With skilled IT engineers in such demand, Kidderminster-based Minster Micro Computers
Ltd, is delighted to have secured not one, but four new trainee engineers.
Minster Director, Mrs Susan Marlow, stated: "Recruiting the right calibre of young people
continues to be a challenge, and like many other businesses in our sector looking to recruit
and train budding young talent theres no shortage of applicants, just applicants with the
right skillsets.
20-year old Ryan, who is studying Business Information Technology at university successfully
secured his 12-month placement as part of his university degree course, whilst 19-year old
Rheece, 18-year old Alex and the youngest of the apprenticeship group Esmée secured their
positions with Minster through the Worcestershire County Councils Apprenticeship
Scheme.
Susan continued: All have the right aptitude, interests and attitude to become, what we
believe, successful IT engineers. Their current technical capacity marries well with their keen
interest in learning. Alongside this, they all have fantastic, enthusiastic personalities that
cant be taught, only encouraged!
All four budding engineers will be given training on a range of products such as Microsoft,
SAP, Pegasus business software and 3CX, as well as receiving individual training alongside
Minsters product development and support engineers. They join an established team
delivering business software, hardware and IT support services to customers both locally
and across the surrounding counties, ranging in size from SMEs to corporate bodies with
large multi-user networks.
Added Susan: This is an exciting time for Minster and we look forward to the next 12-
months as our new recruits receive specialist product and workplace training designed to
ensure they are fully competent engineers capable of joining Minsters engineering team at
the end of their training period.
Once they have successfully completed their courses, all four trainees will have the
opportunity to secure full time positions with Minster.
Minster would like to wish all Made in the Midlands Members a good Christmas break and
a prosperous new year!
